Annual Pilgrimage to Fall Leaf Country

Blue Ridge and Ellijay, located in the North Georgia mountains, have been our most consistent vacation spot for our family. A vast network of mountain bike trails, beautiful scenery of the Blue Ridge mountains, and a great variety of shops and restaurants…this area has something for all of us. And the best time to visit? Fall of course! The weather is cooler and the leaves are stunning this time of year.

As our lives have gotten busier over the years, it’s been quite a few years since our entire family have been able to enjoy the fall season in the mountains. But this year we were determined to not let these obstacles keep us from being together! And it turned out to be worth the effort. The weather and especially the leaves did not disappoint. With my wife recently getting back into riding, we even got in a family mountain bike ride, something we have not done in the mountains for many years.

This blog will be a compilation of photos from this trip. Enjoy!

Lake Blue Ridge provided a peaceful reprieve after a long drive from Florida.

Enjoying a ride at Stanley Gap trails. If you’re going to get a photo of your bike leaning against something, might as well have fall Georgia leaves as the backdrop.

We timed out visit well! The leaves were approaching peak color change.

Our first family bike ride in the mountains in many years…I was a happy camper.

Since my daughter doesn’t have a mountain bike of her own right now, I let her ride my enduro bike…Transition Sentinel. She liked it.

Break time on the family ride.

Chill time in the cabin.

This little guy was toddler when we first started heading to this area for vacations. He’s had a few calories since then.

Not a bad way to watch a sunrise.
